Welcome aboard, me maties!

AG is a Pirates of the Caribbean RPG taking place after Curse of the Black Pearl, and incorporating many of the plots of Dead Man's Chest and At World's End, but is not beholden to follow them exactly, or at all. We welcome both Canon characters and Original Characters, and hope you'll consider joining us for some adventure on the high seas.

What is an NPC?

Now, the way I am using NPC here is a bit of a misnomer--since NPC stands for Non-Player Character, and all these characters will have a player behind them. The difference here is that they won't be considered as one of the players 'main characters' and does not count toward their character total.

Any characters on this list will fall into one of three categories:[/big]

  1. Movie characters who have no handler yet,
  2. Characters created for a specific plot/thread, or
  3. A character who is used in more than one thread as a sort of background character to help flesh out what is going on.
Anyone can use an unclaimed movie character in a thread, provided s/he would likely be in circumstances where they would speak/interact with the movie character. Other original characters who are NPC's, most especially ones created for a specific thread, are typically only used by their handler, though you may contact them to see if you could get them in your thread. Regarding original NPC's that are created for more than one specific use or plot, it would be wise to err on the side of caution and ask the handler, but some may have a special note written in their bio saying they are free to be used by anyone.

In addition, any of these NPCs have the chance to transition (through application) and become an accepted main character for the handler and board. When/if that happens their bios will be edited and moved into the appropriate other forum.

There is a specific bio format for NPC movie characters, as well as one for Original NPCs.

Attention: While we pretty much give you free reign with what you can create as an NPC, this is not an excuse to create a character that we would not normally accept as a player character had you applied with it, and to then treat the NPC as a full character. That is a big no-no, and will result in harsh consequences if it is done.

If you want your NPC to be supernatural, you must contact a staff member first.
