Hobbies: Writing, painting, photoshop, knitting--things to do with my hands and creativity. A Funny Story: I suffer from severe "foot in mouth" disease. One night when I was a college sophmore, I'm at the school's library, and I'm there with a friend working on some ideas and stuff for our squibs for our syntax class (squib=short paper). So I came up with this ridiculously long sentence that I would parse (diagram out in a tree), and there were just so many prepositional phrases (PPs) that I was having a hard time keeping track of them all. So I was hand writing some stuff and then I look at the tree and realised I'd forgotten about a PP. So, rather loudly I might add, I practically yell out, "Oh look! I found my PP again!" Would be fine if that didn't mean something other than a prepositional phrase... Pirates of the Caribbean, Royal Navy of the Caribbean, or Politics of the Caribbean? Royal Navy, of course. In my dream, it was my birthday, so we were having a party in our tiny backyard. All of a sudden, giants started to attack! I managed to escape with a few other people. We snuck into the back of the giants' station wagon and hitched a ride back to their castle to see what they were up to. Inside, this butler-type guy who had come with us thought he was cool enough to get closer to the giants than where the rest of us were, but they saw him and fed him to their pet eels. These eels could talk (think The Little Mermaid), and they were getting on the giants' nerves. Finally, one giant got so annoyed that he pulled the eels out of their tank and chopped their heads off. Here's where it gets weird (  ). The eel heads started singing some weird song, and the words to their song appeared on the bottom of the "screen" and their heads started bouncing along on top of the words like the Mickey Mouse head in Disney Sing-a-long Songs videos. Then the screen went black and "TO BE CONTINUED..." appeared in big white letters. Sadly, it never was.Pirates of the Caribbean, Royal Navy of the Caribbean, or Politics of the Caribbean? How'd you start RPing?: I joined an AoS RPG that died within a week, joined another, it died, joined another that was deleted right when I was in the middle of a post, and got huffy. So I made my own, and decided to join AG too. Hobbies: I am a Napoleonic re-enactor - no word of a lie! I spend my weekends in summer getting all dressed up as a soldier of the 50th West Kent regiment. I've got the red coat, musket and all. A Funny Story: I was at a re-enactment event a few years ago, and we had a new member with us. You've never seen anyone so fastidious in your life. And it rained, off and on, the whole weekend. So, we're marching down to the battlefield to do our display, and there's puddles all over the place, the road we're using not being tarmacked. We come to a puddle and this guy steps out of file to go round it. We've got the 95th behind us and there's a lot of tutting going on. And our officer asks them to step short to make a gap, nips through and comes up on this guy's other side. And the next puddle we come to is even bigger than the first one. Then somebody from there confirmed to me it exists and sent me to the RPG Directory. As I am a fan of Age of Sail and I had written (in my language) several stories from this period, I was looking at the historical chapter... until I found something I liked. Since August last year, this is my third board... and I am active on all of them! (As active as my partners allow me to be!;) ) Hobbies: Reading, writing my own stories and poetry, recently RPGs, listening to music, learning about unusual cultures and civilisaitons... A Funny Story: Working in English, in the field of International Relations, leads sometimes to funny "pearls of language"... especially when tired after too many full days of negotiations... Fortunately, it wasn't at the negotiation table then, but at the protocol lunch... The year was 1998, I guess... and the discussion came to unleaded gasoline, which was new in our country. I got a blockage and I couldn't remember how to say it. And while in my head it was something like: "Damn! Quickly, what't the name in English of that bloody metal?" ...of course that there was another metal I had seen written more often around me than "lead" (as I don't have any car)... so I said to the Austrians after a short pause: "stainless gasoline"!   Anyway, it was better than a former boss of mine, who had asked a Dutch lady, instead of "Are you a vegetarian?", "Are you a vegetable?"  And both stories are, unfortunately, true!
