I still haven't really managed to get Liz off the ground here, much to my regret - and I don't suppose it'll get any easier now that more of the action is taking place in Tortuga. I'm not ready to have Liz turn pirate just to stay involved; that's not our canon, after all. I have some plans for a story with Gillette, perhaps, but that's going to have to stay on hold for a while... So, all you other brave *cough*, lawful (or not so lawful) people still inhabiting Port Royal, would you be interested in doing a thread with Liz? |

Hmm...Well, I have Welkin in Port Royal still. Since Chad's player has unfortunately had to leave the board for a while, perhaps Wel is looking for work somewhere else. Might could find it at the governor's place, which prolly has room for an amaneusis, maybe. Otherwise we could just do a random encounter, or perhaps Liz comes across him after he's killed someone on the beach at night. <_____< >______> |

Woohoo! It's a plan. So, Liz is... taking a walk in the middle of the night, or something (ouch, that could be difficult - but hey, with Liz, everything's possible) - or would Welkin kill during the day as well, so long as he thinks he won't be seen? (I don't know why I'm picturing him only killing at night, but I am.) Anyway... Liz runs into soaking Welkin, just popping up, and then the body of his victim floats to the surface shortly after, yeah? And then Liz is all sympathetic and feels bad and eventually persuades the gov to hire Welkin (or maybe get him a job elsewhere, but meh). I mean... she can guess what he really did, but that's going to end very badly for both or either of them. And it's more fun having this mistake hanging over Liz' head. She thinks a bit too highly of herself sometimes, and does good things on auto-pilot, because she should, and so she can feel good about herself. I doubt I can change that attitude, but it'll be fun to mess with her head a little. I don't know how much she would respond to Welkin's charms... I guess she might just a little. But mostly, she'll be helping him just for the sake of it, which could be a funny way of messing with Welkin's head too, if he thinks he's got Liz under his spell and suddenly she goes: "No, sorry." Would you start? I mean... That seems the most logical. I can do it too, though. Bettie, I've been thinking of joining Phoebe, but I don't know how yet, especially not without getting her arrested or something. If inspiration strikes, though, I'm so in, provided someone else hasn't beaten me to it. |

Yeah it would be at night, or at least dark enough not to be too noticed. Wel would also keep his focus on whores and women like that whose absence won't be much lamented either. And he could try to charm her, but if she's in love with Will they won't work anyway. At the same time he might not try to charm her since she's such a prominent person in the town. But surely do, I will start! See if I can get Welkin back into my Muse Box. |

Nobody's made any solid offers yet, so you're still free to jump into my open thread, or we could create a new one if that might work better. |

Yeah, no, of course, got you. I didn't mean he'd go after her in a "Let's kill this *(^@(^*@()!" kind of spirit, but just to get her to help him in little ways, maybe - trying to persuade her to get him a better room, or better food, or a raise... That sort of thing. Anyway, it's not important. Definitely jumping into the Phoebe thread when I have a chance. Another thread wouldn't help that much, I fear; I mean, two women from walks of life so different... A random encounter is the best chance we've got. |
