AG is a Pirates of the Caribbean RPG taking place after Curse of the Black Pearl, and incorporating many of the plots of Dead Man's Chest and At World's End, but is not beholden to follow them exactly, or at all. We welcome both Canon characters and Original Characters, and hope you'll consider joining us for some adventure on the high seas.

Admiral Lord Heyworth had once been a great commander. That's what the word was anyway. The stories told when he wasn't around, when he was around, when out of earshot, and within earshot. People gloried in telling of his great bravery during battles--how he fired off the guns himself when the men manning them had been felled by grapeshot. How he stood tall on the quarterdeck and never flinched. Not even when a first lieutenant had been shot down not even a foot from him.

Once he was that great commander, but he was getting cranky in his older age, an truth be told...his memory just wasn't what it used to be. He had his good moments, of course. He managed to pull himself together to deal with the crisis of the mutiny in Port Royale, when many thought it was not in him.

But on his off-days...his flag captain often found more of the responsibility falling into his hands when Heyworth could not be convinced that he resided in Kingston and not at Gibraltar. The man might often forget his officers--not just names, but faces, or mistake them for some acquaintance long past.

It was starting to become an increasing liability--the last time he had given orders without them being checked, he'd nearly started a war--ordering a vessel to sail to a Spanish port and impress sailors that were badly needed. Fortunately, it had been averted, but not without causing major headaches for all the senior officers.

It was becoming harder to hide the man's condition as well from others--if it was not already known to the 29th, then it had to at least be suspected. Heyworth often had dinners with the Army officers, and his condition wasn't limited to purely his job, it manifest itself elsewhere as well.

In truth, it was only going to be a matter of time before he'd be recalled to England, and allowed to retire and live in peace, though he though it a time of war, and someone else would have to be promoted to fill in the gaps.
