I don't know how many of you pay attention to the convo in the cbox, but today, while Jack and I were chatting, we thought of an idea that might be kind of fun: What if all of us, or at least, several of us took on the role of Jack and posted together in a thread about the Locker? We can each take on certain personae (more than one, if we like) and RP them against each other. I think it would be fun, with or without a definite plot, but it has the potential of lasting longer if we have a definite direction to go in. What do you guys think? Any takers? Any plot ideas? |

I think that would be absolutely hilarious. And...if we do that...would anyone mind if I'm the goat-lovin' Jack? Unless of course someone else wants it... Unfortunately I really can't think of any ideas regarding a more specific plot, except for those which are already associated with AWE. Like fighting over something in particular--which what there was already in the movie. |

Now, Monkey, you can't blame this one on me. It was your plan of utter genius. As far as I'm concerned, Alia, you can keep horny!Jack. Listen to Satyros a lot when you write him - it might inspire. ![]() My main question at this point is: do you want me to be 'normal' Jack, or should I simply take on a few alter egos as well? I think real!Jack would probably be useful for whatever plot we come up with, but I'm good with choosing specific Jacks as well. I'm rather fond of slow!Jack, myself. Plot... will be difficult. If I'm real!Jack, we could at least start with... well, when he first begins to see his others selves. Confusion, then annoyance, turning him into the quasi-evil dictator-ish Locker Jack as we see him in AWE. But that's still not much of a plot. I still think it would be fun to have a bunch of Jacks play a game together, but all of them cheating, and real!Jack getting tired of it and walking away. And I think that makes sense. I mean, if you were all alone in the Locker with no way of getting out, and then found out there were several of you, wouldn't your first idea be to play a game together, to waste some time and try not to think of your unpromising situation? And during the game (can't decide what game) everyone could talk a bit and show his personality. OK, still not much of a plot... |

I might have come up with the initial idea, but you helped too. You're not getting off that easily. ![]() Okay, Alia gets Horny Jack. Jack gets... Dumb Jack. I suppose you can be the real Jack too. Unless you don't want to be for some reason. We may end up needing to take on more than one anyways, just for the variety, since there are only so many of us here that are fairly active. I'm still deciding on which Jack I want to be. Figures. It was my idea, but I'm the least decisive. I'm really good at doing that. I'm going to pop the movie in tonight and see which one interests me most. I'm a little intrigued by the Evil Jack, but I have a difficult time RPing evil (I tried it once with Beckett), and I kind of like the Humble Jack (the one that got killed at the end) but I don't think he'd be much fun. *shrugs* I'll come up with something. |

People tell me that... way too often. So, we have a number of random Jacks left, including but not limited to: chicken!Jack, evil!Jack... maybe nautical!Jack? I read this fic once that added a gay!Jack, and I think we could have him... Maybe vain!Jack. There would probably be an angsty!Jack, and a rebellious!Jack... |

I think game-playing would be fun. But for more Jacks...perhaps we should have an Emo!Jack? Maybe? Similar to Angsy!Jack...but more prone to causing irritation in others? I think I'll have to borrow AWE just to see Horny!Jack again. And some good old Coupling with Jeff to wash it down.

Games... You mean like cards? Or something more like soccer/football. (I'm partial to dodgeball personally. The rules are simple, and we get to see everyone's true colors. ) I suppose we could do that. But I don't think they would all be trying to cheat each other. It would depend on their personalities. And I doubt Slow Jack (or Dumb, whichever you prefer) would even know how to play. As an aside, what's up with the exclamation points?I watched that scene, and even though it shows lots of Jacks, most of them are just running around following orders. We don't really get to see their personalities. That doesn't change until we get to Chicken Jack (who I don't like at all, for some reason) and Horny Jack. Then, during the scene where Real Jack kills Humble Jack, you see some of the others we were talking about. Screencap There were two Jacks that I hadn't noticed before. One was the Scared Jack who had his hands up on his head the whole time, and another was just after that scene. I'll call him Sneaky Jack. He was trying to sneak away as if he was afraid of getting caught for something. A third Jack that we never see, but is obviously roaming around in Jack's head somewhere is the Peacemaker Jack (or maybe just Reasonable Jack) He's the one that says, "Doldrums. Has the whole crew on edge." (or something like that) But of course, we can always make up others, since there are so many of them. I kind of like the idea of a know-it-all, show-offy Jack (Although I don't know what to call him) I'm thinking the crew would get tired of him really quick. Same with a Whiney Jack (or Binky Jack ) Gay and Emo are interesting too. Neat Freak Jack. Childish Jack. Prankster Jack.Errgghh! I can't decide. I'm going to think some more. Which is scary, considering how much I've written already. *puts her hands up and steps away from the keyboard* |

Okay, I'm back. I had considered Gay Jack, but with Horny Jack too, (who probably wouldn't be bothered by a Gay Jack, considering he's going after a goat) it might be a bit much. So I think I might do the Know-it-all, Show off Jack and just call him PITA Jack for short, which is what he would essentially be. Okay, another question. Since there are only 3 of us who seem to be interested in this, do we want to take on more than one Jack? And how will we work this out if we do? Jack, do you want to be Real Jack too, or would you rather someone else do it. Someone has to be him, and I just assumed it would be you, because you already are. |

Just realised you never got that answer on the exclamation thing--that's an across fandoms thing now--you use it to describe what sort of character you're playing. Sorta like I play what I call True!Norrie or what some call Navy!Norrie, as opposed to Faux!Norrie or Scruffy!Norrie. I think the initial point of putting the exclamation there was to emphasise that the important part of the name was the adjective and not the character's name...but that's just a theory.
Could you imagine the innuendo potency of ^ if you had used 'do' instead of 'be'? ![]() I suppose I might be able to take on a second Jack...they're slighly more caricatures or one dimensional versions of Jack so I think I could handle more than one and still be true to the main character aspects...if we do want to go the way of more than one Jack. I'll do two Jacks... ![]() Right, back to business. I wanted to say though, on the Gay!Jack that I don't think it would be too much to have him if we have more than three Jacks going. I really wouldn't see a problem with him being there if there were three Jacks and one of them being Goat!Jack. Different interests there. Some common beard love, but...that's inevitable, isn't it? |

I've never seen the exclamation points before, but then, I probably don't spend as much time going to other places as you do. But okay, now that I know what it is, I'll play along.
Hehe, that was close. I'm surprised I didn't use 'do', because I usually... do. *feels like Beckett* Okay, two Jacks sound good. Unless our Jack objects for some reason, but I think we discussed this already. I think. I'm going to think about Gay!Jack (ohh, shiny exclamation point ) a little more, since PITA!Jack will probably be a little on the sensitive side too. I'm intrigued by Evil!Jack, but I'm not sure I can do it justice. Plus, I'm not sure how evil he is in deed. He may just like to watch other people be mean. Then there's Sneaky! Jack. *frustrated* I'm hopeless.

Sorry for the late reply, but I couldn't deal with anything much for a few days. But now I can, so here I am.
I was thinking along the lines of cards. Maybe dice, but that's more difficult to cheat. And no, of course not all the Jacks would cheat, but I suspect many do. And slow!Jack... You're right that he wouldn't know how to play - but that would be great in its annoyingness. And of course others could try to take advantage of him. (On a barely related note, I see one of the sneaksier Jackses playing that game where he claims to know whatever card you picked without seeing it. So slow!Jack takes a card, and the other Jack asks which one it is, and slow!Jack tells him, and the other Jack says that was just what he was thinking, and slow!Jack is so totally impressed. *win*) Emo!Jack would be funny. I don't think I ever noticed scared!Jack. That's brilliant. Sneaky!Jack would be cool. Maybe call him more of a paranoid!Jack... I would love to do him. I'm all about the paranoia. Gotta keep things balanced, though.
You could always combine the two. A sort of backstabbing!Jack. Sort of.
Course I am. ![]() I wanted to be real!Jack, but now I don't really care. If you want to do him, that's fine. It'll save me the trouble of starting the thread, if nothing else.

It's up to you. I wasn't sure if you wanted to essentially keep your character in his normal state, or if you were more interested in exploring other sides of him. Although you've mentioned that you like Slow!Jack and Paranoid!Jack, so if you'd rather do them (hehe), that's fine. If so, I can go ahead and do Real!Jack and pick one more (since I'm having such a difficult time deciding anyways), and we can get started. But I didn't ask because I was trying to take the part. If you want to be Real!Jack, go ahead. Now, I'm still trying to decide on my other Jack. I don't really want to do PITA!Jack anymore. *ducks to avoid flying rum bottles* It's a toss up between Emo!Jack and Evil!Jack. I like the idea of Emo!Jack, but I think we almost need Evil!Jack to balance things out. If I end up taking Real!Jack, then we have Goat/Horny!Jack (I think we should broaden it to Horny, if we're not going to have a Gay!Jack), Paranoid!Jack, and Slow!Jack. There's no one there to really cause any trouble. But then, I don't know which one Alia's going to pick for her second Jack. That might help me decide. On the other hand, if Jack does keep Real!Jack, then I suppose I could do both. It might be a nice outlet for my dark side. (In case you weren't aware that I had one. ) |
